It's August Already

Wow...time flies when you're having fun. The last two weeks have been full of activities for Bo and Ellie. Since we last checked in, the kids have been visiting the Zoo with Baba and Papaw, boating for the first time, getting their first haircuts at the barbershop, touring historic Conner Prairie, enjoying Great Grandpa's world famous elephant ears at the Boone Count Fair, hanging with Uncle Gary, Aunt Tara, Cousin Spencer and Cousin Morgan, cooking out with the Burtons, saying hi to everyone at the Broad Ripple Market, chasing their kitty (Linus) and more.

The kids really love animals. So, the visits to the Zoo and the Boone County Fair (with the Soards Family) were a big hit. And, they also had a big time going out on Geist Resevoir with Adam, Meri, Cade and Cole Weber.

Bo, especially enjoyed getting up close and personal with a big cow at the Fair. One of the 4-H kids took a liking to him, so he got the VIP treatment. Ellie didn't care so much for the cows, but she was really impressed with the goldfish Dad won at one of the game tables. Too bad the fish didn't make it through the weekend. We think Linus stared at the fish too much and caused them to stress themselves out. But, the official autoposy results won't be in for a few days.

Take care and enjoy the rest of the Summer.

Visitors From Far Away

Bo and Ellie had visitors from Seattle over the weekend. Uncle Bill and Brick arrived on Thursday and the kids had a blast with them. They all made a trip to the Indy Zoo on Friday and the rest of the weekend was spent playing, reading and kicking back at the baby pool. Baba and Papaw Wilson were also over with Aunt Kim and Doyle which left the kids' bellies hurting from so much laughter.

Offering a nice sideshow to all the fun, Bo and Ellie have started to get after each other a little more these days. When Ellie has a toy, Bo often wants it. But, Ellie rarely feels like giving it up. For now the result is a little pushing and a lot of baby trash talk that's hilarious and difficult to understand at the same time. We haven't had to mediate much, but Sis has some size on Bo right now. So, I've encouraged Bo to watch his step. I'm guessing our little angel can serve up a mean right hook if provoked.

Pictures follow. Be well.

We Like Our Vacations

Should we go to the beach or just hang out by the pool? Do we have a plate big enough for my slice of peach pie? Is mint chocolate chip ice cream really better than vanilla bean? What kind of weight limit do you think this diving board has?

These are the issues we've tackled over the last few weeks and through all of this, Bo and Ellie have really taken to their new life of leisure. If it wasn't for the Cubs going in the tank just before the All-Star break, all the planets would be aligned.

Bo and Ellie have been having a blast. All this time with family has been great and the kids are definetly feeling the love. Ellie has really taken to swimming. She loves the pool and can't get enough of having her face dipped in the water. She has perfected her impression of an elephant and is now working on a monkey impersonation.

Bo has decided that he likes ice cream, potato chips, peach pie, whipped cream and much more. When he wasn't busy downing the sweets, he was conquering the staircase in our cabin, dancing to the music, swimming and playing with family.

Here are some of our vacation pictures from South Haven, MI.
