Hooray for April

Wow...did we have a big time in April. The month started with a couple of parties for Ellie and then the good times just kept coming with swimming lessons, Easter egg hunts and lots of visits from friends and family.

This was the month of new phrases from the kids as well. Bo is into saying, "are you kidding me?"; "no way", and "what time is it?" He has also grown fond of saying, "oh, mam", which seems to be his own take on Dad's often used, "oh man."

Ellie has taken to saying, "hey look...it's the moon during the daytime"; "you're so silly"; "i'm not ready to get up yet", and "i'm a baby monkey". She has become a regular at asking us to tell her a story or sing her a song. As long as Mickey Mouse, Dora and Diego are the main characters, the narrative doesn't really matter.

Now that the weather has turned warmer, the kids are outside as much as possible. Since last Fall, their swingset has become a jungle gym. Bo thinks he's Diego and he climbs all over the blasted thing. Ellie does the same and they both have become very imaginitive in their play. Thank goodness Linus the Cat is agreeable, because she is often part of their fun and games.

Later this week, we are going to Great Grandpa Routh's house for a few days. The kids can't wait to see what kind of fun they can get into on the farm.

It's My Party

Ellie turns three in a couple of days. But, the big party was on Saturday. She had a little fever and an infection, but she didn't let that get in the way of a good party with family. She even had a birthday cake with her very own picture on it. We thought she'd avoid eating herself, but she demanded the piece with her face on it. After digging into the cake, she proudly proclaimed, "hey...I just ate my eyes." Well done Ellie. Now, if you act like your full of yourself, we'll know why.
