Summer Vacation

Summer continues to be one big adventure after another. To celebrate the Fourth of July, we loaded up the family truckster and road tripped to Rochester, NY, home of the Burkes. Bo and Ellie felt right at home. They went to the children's museum, took in a minor league baseball game and had lots of fun playing with Courtney, Claudia and Colin Burke. It sure was fun. And we even got to go swimming at our hotel on the drive out.

As soon as we got home, Bo and Ellie were excited to inherit Cousin Spencer and Morgan's old swingset. Now, they have two swings, a trapeze bar and a tall lookout tower with a periscope, a steering wheel and a big, yellow slide. Uncle Gary and Aunt Tara sure were great to give us such a nice gift. Thanks!

The kids also had all kinds of fun with Michelle's Uncle Butch and Aunt Jody. Bo and Ellie have always been fascinated by motorcycles. Fortunately, Butch and Jody have some pretty cool Harleys. The kids got to ride on them and then they waived goobye as Baba and our friend, Joann, took off for an afternoon ride.

Then, we hit the road in our car to see Grammy and Papa in Fort Wayne. That was a fun trip with a couple of visits to the park, a cookout with Uncle Bud and lunch with our friends Matt and Michelle who were home for the summer from teaching in Slovakia. We even got to watch the Three Rivers Festival Parade. Boy was that fun.

We rounded things out with a trip to our first Indianapolis Indians game. It was Papi's birthday, so we had sandwiches, chips, juice and cupcakes. Bo even inherited his Uncle Bill's baseball glove. We didn't have any balls hit our way, but Bo was ready just in case. Maybe next time.
