Radio Wisdom

Today was the first day back to work for many Russian officials that had been off celebrating the New Year. So, this morning we picked up the phone again and renewed our efforts to figure out what in the wide world of sports is going on with our adoption proceedings.

As expected, we did not get any new information today. But, we will continue to push for some progress and hope things will come together soon so we can travel back. The waiting game has become more challenging for us now that the holidays have passed, but the reminders to take things as they come, continue to roll in. Some of these messages come from friends, and others come from listening to music and hearing lyrics that you never thought would speak to you.

It's probably a bit pathetic...like when you broke up with your first sweetheart and then thought every song on the radio about love gone wrong was written especially for you. But, desparate times call for desparate measures.

It's with that disclaimer that I tell you that a punk band, Greenday, pretty well summed things up for us today. The song, Time of Your Life, was on a '94 CD titled, Dookie. Go figure. But, the lyrics hit the mark for us and we're sure we will indeed have the time of our lives once Bo and Ellie are officially part of the Marker Family.

Lyrics:

Another turning point; a fork stuck in the road.
Time grabs you by the wrist; directs you where to go.
So make the best of this test and don't ask why.
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time.
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

We'll let you know when we get any good news. Thanks for checking in on us.
