Here Comes Santa Claus
As Bo and Ellie anxiously await a visit from Santa, we wanted to wish all of you that have checked in on them online this year a very Merry Christmas. As a friend told us just before Bo and Ellie made us a family, "you will find that a whole new part of your heart will open up that you never knew was there before." He was right and we continue to be amazed by how much joy our kids bring us.
Yesterday, an Indiana newspaper reprinted an editorial that first ran in The New York Sun in 1897. At first glance, the editorial seems to be about believing in Santa Claus. But, the real message focuses on the true spirit of the season and the importance of faith, love, generosity and devotion. Part of the editorial follows. We hope you enjoy it and we hope you experience God's blessings of peace and joy this holiday season too.
Have a Merry Christmas!
Dear Editor! I am 8 years old.
Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus.
Papa says, "If you see it in The Sun it's so." Please tell me the truth: Is there a Santa Claus?

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible...
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be the world if there were no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias.
