A Matter of Weeks

Since mid January, we have been working under the assumption that we could get a call any day telling us to get back on a plane to Russia. Today, we learned that we should expect a call in a matter of weeks. Words cannot convey how disappointing this all is.

It seems that German and Irish couples are getting the first nod from Russian officials to travel back and complete their adoption proceedings. Some American couples have traveled, but only one so far from the agency we are working with. It seems government bureaucracy is at work.

Bohdan Sergei's first birthday is February 17th, so we are now hoping we might somehow be able to celebrate with him that day. What a great gift it would be for him to be able to meet Eliana Inna, his new sister, on his first birthday.
